Francisco Riera

DIRECTOR

 

Director and founder of Equilibrium SDC and senior consultant with 10 years of experience in international development, sustainability and climate change. He holds a Master’s degree in International Development, Poverty and Inequality from the University of Manchester (UK), and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Catholic University of Asuncion (Paraguay).

Strong project management and support skills, having executed large-scale projects for public sector clients (e.g. British Government, IDB and the European Union), but also as a civil servant for various UN agencies and as a civil servant for the Paraguayan Government. During his time in these organizations, he focused his work on poverty reduction, social exclusion, disaster risk management and human rights projects. His main areas of research link social assistance and social protection policies in Latin America and the promotion of a psychological approach to poverty reduction.
